History of Team Minnesota
Team Minnesota is an elite national basketball program of Hospitality House Youth Directions. Its mission is to develop student-athletes both on the court and off. Team Minnesota is proudly sponsored by Adidas©.
Since its foundation in 1999, Team Minnesota (Team MN) has grown into a highly competitive program that focuses energy on the development of athletes ranging in age from 15 to 17. Under the leadership of the coaching staff, the state’s top high school prospects have the opportunity to develop athletically by focusing on improving player skill levels and through strength training. It is through the partnership with Hospitality House that athletes have use of a gymnasium with a new basketball court and a personal trainer.
Additionally, coaches emphasize to each player the importance of achieving and maintaining the academic eligibility and success necessary to prepare them for entry into collegiate competition. The program highlights this need by requiring submission of academic transcripts to the coaching staff. Student-athletes also have the further ability to utilize the services provided through Hospitality House’s academic programs.
Finally, the Team MN program stresses a personal approach toward the individual development of each player. The Team MN approach has been highly successful. In the 2002 tournament season, by producing opportunities in the form of scholarships for 80% of its players, the season was representative of the commitment and importance that Team MN places on overall player development.
Team Minnesota...Taking you to the next level.
